Ranges Music Network is excited to be working with a talented and enthusiastic team of young music educators as Apprentices. We aim to support them as they grow as teachers and musicians and know they’ll bring great ideas, energy and inspiration to your young musicians!
Apprentices receive mentoring and support from our Program Director and staff of Educators. It’s part of our mission to create a diverse and sustainable music education and performance scene here in the Macedon Ranges.
Gus Price’s interest in music started at a very young age, with both his parents having careers in music and the Arts.
Gus began piano lessons while at Macedon Primary School, he turned to taking guitar lessons at the age of 13 with Tom Martin while continuing his piano experience with John Tunyep at Braemar College and continued these lessons right through to the end of year 12.
Throughout Secondary School Gus experimented with a variety of styles of music. He formed the band Dr. Frisco with a number of schoolmates and the band went on to top Braemar College’s VCE VET Music Performance class in 2018. He was an active member of the school’s Music Department and was always mentoring younger musicians at the College.
Gus now plays drums, guitar and sings in the band Catalina. The Indie band has played many gigs in the Macedon Ranges and beginning to branch out into the larger music world.
He is pursuing a degree in Education with a focus on Sports Science and his passions in music.
